Copying customization between Amazon seller accounts
Overview
A cross-account copy recreates an agreed customization setup on destination listings in another seller account. It can involve the same marketplace or a different one. It does not transfer ownership of the seller account, move customer orders or grant rights to someone else’s artwork.
Amazon’s help page distinguishes account access from ownership: adding authorized users does not make a seller account transferable. Amazon account access guidance
The steps below describe our service workflow. Compatibility and the access needed for your particular listings are checked before a pilot.
Before you start
Both account owners must authorize the work. Confirm who owns the source customization, who controls the destination listings, and who can approve changes.
Prepare:
- A source-to-target SKU mapping, including the marketplace for each side.
- Confirmation that you may reuse the images, fonts, wording and other assets.
- Existing target listings in the same category as their mapped source listings, as required by our preflight.
- Any approved differences in labels, dimensions, customization prices or branding.
- A list of destination customizations that must be preserved or replaced.
Check Amazon Custom eligibility in the target account. Amazon’s US program page says sellers need a Professional plan and that customized orders are seller-fulfilled. Marketplace requirements should be checked in the relevant account. Amazon Custom
Process
- Describe the job. Use the pilot form, tick the different-seller-account box, and explain which account is the source and which is the target. The two marketplace selections may be the same for a cross-account copy.
- Authorize scoped access. We agree the minimum access needed for the job and follow Amazon’s current service-provider authorization process. The account owner reviews the requested scope before granting access. Do not share the primary account password. How sellers authorize providers
- Confirm the mapping. We check the target listings and agree which settings should match and which should change. We confirm that the agreed access can view and edit the required customization controls before copying.
- Preserve the target. We back up its existing customization before copying the pilot.
- Review and approve. Start with up to 10 SKUs and approve the result before the remaining agreed batch runs.
Review and next steps
Compare the target buyer preview with the agreed source. Check text and image inputs, required fields, options, conditional behaviour, fonts, preview positioning and customization charges. Review the saved settings as well as what the customer sees.
Record any incompatible items rather than treating a partial copy as complete. Keep the approved SKU mapping and exception list with the handover, and remove or expire service-provider access when the work is finished.
Request a pilot for your two accounts. CopyCustomization is independent and is not affiliated with Amazon.
