How to copy Amazon Custom customization to Amazon.ca
Overview
Moving a product listing to Amazon.ca and recreating its customization experience are separate tasks. A title, price and product image do not tell you whether the customer’s text fields, choices and preview behave the same way.
Amazon offers Custom in Canada, including text, image and configuration options. Customized orders must be fulfilled by the seller. Confirm your Canadian account’s eligibility before planning the copy. Amazon.ca Custom
This guide describes the CopyCustomization service process. It is not an Amazon import procedure or a guarantee that every source setup is compatible with every destination.
Before you start
Prepare a mapping of source SKUs to destination SKUs. Include the source and target marketplaces, and flag any products whose destination differs from the original.
For our service, the destination listings must already exist and match the source category. We check those listings before changing customization. This is our preflight requirement, rather than a promise that Amazon will create or approve a destination listing automatically.
Confirm that:
- You control both listings and have rights to their images, fonts and other assets.
- Your target account can use Amazon Custom for the selected products.
- The target products are ready for your intended fulfillment process.
- You have chosen how customization surcharges and dimensions should be handled.
- Any translated labels, instructions and option names have been reviewed by someone who understands the destination language.

Process
- Define the copy. Send the source and destination marketplaces, approximate SKU count and any exceptions through the pilot form. Do not send passwords or customer order data.
- Confirm access and compatibility. We agree the minimum authorized access and check the target listings, available customization controls and assets.
- Agree conversions. Specify whether customization prices stay at their face values or use your chosen exchange rate, and review any dimension changes.
- Back up and copy the pilot. We preserve the target customization before changing it and begin with up to 10 SKUs.
- Review before expanding. You approve the pilot before the remaining agreed batch proceeds.
Review and next steps
Compare the source with the target customer’s customization experience. Check required fields, character limits, option order, fonts, colours, images, preview placement and extra charges. Try representative combinations, including conditional options.
A successful submission is only one part of the check. Review the saved target settings and the buyer experience once changes appear. Keep a record of exceptions and agree how each will be handled before expanding.
